During my time at EKU, I will be studying the bumblebee diversity of eastern Kentucky while monitoring for the focal species of the federally endangered, Rusty-patched Bumblebee and threatened, Yellow Banded Bumblebee. Specifically, I will be using plant-pollinator networks, constructed from pollen-load DNA, to examine the comprehensive dietary niche of bumblebee communities in sites that have undergone a gradient of restoration interventions, and determine if restorative measures lend to high quality habitat for bumblebee communities by surveying 10 sites in central and eastern Kentucky.

I'm studying fruit-frugivore and plant-bee interactions in the Neotropics. I want to gain a better understanding of consumer specificity in these communities so I can identify priority plant species for conservation efforts in human dominated landscapes.
